چکیده

Arsenic is a kind of widespread environmental toxicant with multiorgan-toxic effects, and arsenic exposure associated the occurrence development many chronic diseases. The influence on skeletal muscle, which vital organ energy glucose metabolism, has received increasing attention. This study aimed to investigate types inorganic arsenic-induced muscle injury, potential regulatory effects melatonin (MT) erythropoietin (EPO) in young (3-month-old) middle-aged (12-month-old) rats. Our results showed that 1 mg/L sodium arsenite for 3 months could accelerate gastrocnemius atrophy promote switch type II fibers I rats; however, it did not cause significant pathological changes In addition, inhibit serum MT levels, EPO levels but receptor (EPOR) expression rats, while EPOR an opposite effect Importantly, exogenous antagonized arsenite-induced toxic restored There was positive correlation among index, level, protein level arsenite-exposed demonstrated mass loss fiber reduction may be related decreased secretion declined sensitivity muscle.

Dietary supplementation with shiikuwasha extract attenuates dexamethasone-induced skeletal muscle atrophy in aged rats

BACKGROUND Skeletal muscle atrophy is caused by a variety of diseases and conditions. In particular, skeletal muscle atrophy in the elderly contributes to a loss of independence with advanced age and increases the risk of falling. However, the effect of food consumed on a daily basis on skeletal muscle atrophy has been the focus of little research. In this study, the effects of dietary suppleme...

: examining l2 teachers’ corrective feedback types in relation to learners’ uptake, proficiency levels, and context types

abstract this study investigates the teachers’ correction of students’ spoken errors of linguistic forms in efl classes, aiming at (a) examining the relationship between the learners’ proficiency level and the provision of corrective feedback types, (b) exploring the extent to which teachers’ use of different corrective feedback types is related to the immediate types of context in which err...

Alterations in Skeletal Muscle Fatty Acid Handling Predisposes Middle-Aged Mice to Diet-Induced Insulin Resistance

OBJECTIVE Although advanced age is a risk factor for type 2 diabetes, a clear understanding of the changes that occur during middle age that contribute to the development of skeletal muscle insulin resistance is currently lacking. Therefore, we sought to investigate how middle age impacts skeletal muscle fatty acid handling and to determine how this contributes to the development of diet-induce...

Beneficial effects of melatonin on stroke-induced muscle atrophy in focal cerebral ischemic rats

MUSCLE ATROPHY IS THE RESULT OF TWO OPPOSING CONDITIONS THAT CAN BE FOUND IN PATHOLOGICAL OR DISEASED MUSCLES: an imbalance in protein synthesis and degradation mechanisms. Thus, we investigated whether exogenous melatonin could regulate muscle components in stroke-induced muscle atrophy in rats. Comparing muscle phenotypes, we found that long-term melatonin administration could influence muscl...
